Δυό λόγια για τον συγγραφέα του ιστορικού ντοκουμέντου...
Ο Μηνάς Λάγγαρης, πτυχιούχος του Πανεπιστημίου Μακεδονίας (Ανωτάτη Βιομηχανική Σχολή Θεσσαλονίκης).
Ο Μηνάς ασχολήθηκε με την Εθνική Αντίσταση της Ιταλο-Γερμανικής κατοχής και έχει παράξει ένα πλούσιο και σημαντικό ερευνητικό έργο ιστορικού ενδιαφέροντος εκείνης της εποχής. Μεταξύ άλλων, έχει ερευνήσει και αναδείξει ορισμένες ένδοξες, αλλά ελάχιστα μελετημένες μάχες της περιόδου της Εθνικής Αντίστασης, που είναι άγνωστες στο ευρύ κοινό μεταξύ των οποίων και τη Μάχη της Μερίτσας. Τα έργα του τα χαρακτηρίζει μια περιγραφική δύναμη με την οποία εξιστορεί τα γεγονότα σαν να βρισκόταν ο ίδιος εκεί την ώρα της διεξαγωγής τους.
Ανεπηρέαστος από τις μετεμφυλιακές εμπάθειες που κυριάρχησαν στο πολιτικό προσκήνιο της χώρας μας, ο Μηνάς Λάγγαρης παρουσιάζει και αναλύει ιστορικά γεγονότα του τόπου μας τα οποία, χωρίς τη δική του ευαισθησία και τη συστηματική επιστημονική εργασία του, θα έμεναν στο σκοτάδι της λήθης, καθώς μάλιστα άρχισαν να φεύγουν από τη ζωή ένας- ένας από όσους θυμούνται και υπήρξαν μάρτυρες των γεγονότων αυτών.
Στις 22 Αυγούστου του 2020, η Εφημερίδα των συντακτών δημοσίευσε ένα ένθετο του Μηνά, που αναφέρεται στις πρώτες μάχες - θεμέλια της Ελεύθερης Ελλάδας: αυτή του Σίχνοβου που έχει περισσότερο συμβολικό χαρακτήρα και την περίφημη μάχη της Μερίτσας, που ο Συγγραφέας την χαρακτηρίζει σαν την «πρώτη μεγάλη νίκη».
Προϊόν μακρόχρονης ιστορικής μελέτης και επιτόπιας έρευνας, με συλλογή, διασταύρωση και καταγραφή πρωτότυπου υλικού από πολλές, πολυ-πρισματικές πηγές και πλευρές του κάθε αγώνα, είναι και η περιγραφή των πρώτων αυτών μαχών οργανωμένης αντίστασης, που έλαβαν χώρα στον τόπο μας.
Τα έργα του τα χαρακτηρίζει μια περιγραφική δύναμη με την οποία εξιστορεί τα γεγονότα σαν να βρισκόταν ο ίδιος εκεί την ώρα της διεξαγωγής τους. Θαυμάζω όμως αυτόν τον άνθρωπο και για ένα άλλο συνταρακτικό γεγονός. Ο Μηνάς την ώρα που γράφει και εξιστορεί τα γεγονότα διέρχεται μια δραματική περιπέτεια της υγείας του. Και όμως αυτό δεν τον πτοεί, δεν τον λυγίζει, γιατί για κείνον η δημιουργία είναι η αθανασία. Το θάρρος το αντλεί από την αναζήτηση της αλήθειας, αλλά και από τη δύναμη της ψυχής των ανθρώπων της μαύρης εκείνης εποχής, που η ζωή των Ελλήνων αποκτούσε νόημα μέσα από την Ελευθερία.
Έχοντας την άδειά του - και τον ευχαριστώ πολύ γι’ αυτό - παραθέτω εδώ το ένθετο κείμενό του, όπως δημοσιεύτηκε στην Εφημερίδα των Συντακτών. Για λόγους πρακτικούς παρουσιάζεται σε τρία μέρη:
